These units are the industry standard speed, perfectly sized for 90% of the vehicles on the road:

The 12 CFM Stations (Models 91685 / 91686)

Ideal For: Heavy Duty, Transport Refrigeration & Speed-Critical Work

These are high-flow stations. You generally only need this much power if you're working on massive volumes or need to turn jobs around in record time:

• Refrigerated Transport (Reefers) — Large trailer units (e.g., Thermo King / Carrier Transicold) where deep vacuum is critical to remove moisture
• Articulated Buses & Trains — Large rooftop A/C systems with long pipe runs
• Mobile VRF/VRV Techs — If you use this station for static HVAC work (large building A/C) as well as vans, the 12 CFM pump is essential for systems over 20kW

Why buy this one? Time is money. On a large bus system, a 12 CFM pump can reach deep vacuum (500 microns) in half the time of a 6 CFM pump.

Pro Tip: The 4-Way Manifold Advantage

If you're buying the 12 CFM pump, we strongly recommend the 4-Way Manifold version (Model 91686).

The Reason: A 12 CFM pump is like a fire hose. If you try to pull a vacuum through a standard 2-way manifold (which uses a narrow 1/4" hose), you're choking the pump.

The Solution: The 4-Way Manifold has a massive 3/8" vacuum port. This larger hose lets the 12 CFM pump breathe fully, giving you the actual speed benefit you paid for.

Understanding the Upgrades

2-Way vs 4-Way Manifold: The 2-way manifold is suitable for basic charging and evacuation tasks on single refrigerant systems - compact and efficient for standard automotive A/C service. The 4-way manifold provides additional ports for simultaneous operations (vacuum whilst tank is connected), recovery machines, or working with multiple refrigerant types. The 3/8" bore allows faster flow rates. Preferred for high-volume shops and complex HVAC/R applications.

6 CFM vs 12 CFM Pump: The 6 CFM pump handles residential and light commercial systems efficiently. The 12 CFM Black Series pump is engineered for large commercial installations, VRF/VRV systems, and situations where evacuation speed directly impacts productivity. It achieves target vacuum levels in roughly half the time on large systems.
